When the coronavirus outbreak first hit U. For months, New York City residents endured major restrictions until the city began loosening up, allowing for activities like restaurant dining in limited capacity.

But the city has come a long way since March Now, with coronavirus vaccines being widely available to the public, the city is planning to reopen in full beginning July 1. And that's extremely good news for real estate investors. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that come July 1, the city will be fully open for the first time in over a year.

This means that restaurants , retail stores, hair salons, and gyms can welcome back customers at full capacity. Similarly, smaller theaters could reopen by summertime, and Broadway is slated to come back in September. Schools, too, should be back to full-time in-person learning by the start of the fall semester.

Meanwhile, more than half of New York City's adult population has received at least one vaccine dose. The plan is to continue vaccination efforts at full speed to make a full reopening a safer prospect by July. Now one thing that hasn't yet been determined is whether masks will continue to be a requirement in New York City, and in what capacity. But either way, this news should be very encouraging to real estate investors. Food arrived as it was ready. All the food was tasty, well seasoned and portions sufficient.

Bar area was lively and bright. Beet hummus and chicken skewers were delicious and perfect to split for a light lunch. The food is amazing at Shuka! Best thing to do is go with a lot of friends and order family style to try more. The food here was absolutely spectacular!

The restaurant atmosphere was electric and it was very well decorated. It was a bit loud and hard to hear our conversation but I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back soon! Food was fabulous as always and the service great. The staff is warm and welcoming and David insures that all is right. Good service and food!

Ordered the shrimp skewers and it came with a side of pita and sauces. Would definitely go back. This is my go-to lunch spot. Excellent and savory dishes made with care, friendly and attentive staff, beautiful setting.

The Med Plate and the Shakshuka are my two faves, but the lamb burger is excellent too. Service was slow at lunch that was not very busy. My friend ordered the lamb burger and they had no tzaki as a side sauce when she asked this is a Mediterranean restaurant?

My falafel was hard and over cooked. I have been here before but this was terrible. I work for a large media company and need places for working lunches. I was embarrassed to have asked my friend from another large media company to come downtown for such a subpar lunch.

I will not be back anytime soon. Very nice service if a little pushy. Food is fresh and tasty. The restaurant is very loud!!! But, the hostess was accommodating and moved us to a table that we could talk without shouting. The servers are great and the food was delicious, but not like, wow, I have to go back. Overall, if you are in the neighborhood, a great dinner. We had high hopes.

There were a few bright spots: beet tzatziki and cold brew coffee. Yaffa omelette was good, spinach feta scramble was bland, and Mediterranean platter was pedestrian.

Simple requests were simply too much to handle, such as cooking the scrambled eggs well done. To be fair, the manager took the item off the bill because it took so extraordinarily long to return with the corrected order, which was a nice thing to do. But by then, we had inquired of almost every member of the staff except the manager!

We sat by the open windows and even then music levels were so loud it was difficult to hear across the table. And this was brunch! We will not return or recommend. Sorry, Shuka. Everything was excellent. Will definitely be back. The food was good and they have a lot of options. I definetely want to go back to try more plates. Staff is very friendly.

Nice atmosphere, it's much bigger than what it seems from outside. The food was amazing as always. Shuka was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad that I went. The restaurant, itself, is gorgeous, and the food is delicious. Shuka, is great - casual and fun place- Especially in the nice weather it is all open to a quiet MacDougal St.

The food and service were very good. Went here on a recommendation from a friend and it was great!! Nabia was a friendly and attentive server, and I will definitely be going back especially for those fried halloumi bites Everything was top notch--the food and the service. Our group ordered a wide assortment from the menu to share and there wasn't a dish we didn't like. Our faves were the halloumi, fries, and stuffed squash. There is legit something for everyone and the prices are beyond reasonable.

I will so be back again to try even more dishes. Skip to Main Content. Sign up Sign in. Full List of Metros. Overview Photos Menu Reviews. Top Tags : Neighborhood Gem. Fit for Foodies.
