Other Review 2y ago. Mayer Elementary School. This school has been such a blessing to my family. I moved to Chicago for a job and quite quickly had to choose a school for my daughter and a neighborhood for my family. We knew that we wanted a Montessori program but were open to any elementary school that provided a high standard of education.
Oscar Mayer has been a dream of a school not only for my daughter but for our entire family. Let me just start by saying that their is so much love within those walls. The commitment of the teachers and faculty is amazing.
They have made improvements year over year proving that they take the trust that we bestow on them seriously. My daughter has grown year over year and is excelling in her class and with the material they provide. She loves going to school not only for the amazing friendships she has fostered but the loving and caring environment it provides. I also can't leave this review without mentioning the amazing community of parents that exist at Oscar Mayer.
From the paint volunteers to the amazing fundraisers. Last year they raised over a half a million dollars for the school and students. That makes a tremendous difference in the quality education of our students.
In a time where budgets continue to shrink the parents of Oscar Mayer continue to give. I just can't say enough about how this school has changed our lives. We have met friends here, our daughter is happy and learning and they continue to empress us year over year. This should be a 10 school not an 8. Thank you Oscar Mayer for helping feel at home in Chicago and giving our daughter and soon to be son an amazing place to learn and thrive.
Parent Review 5y ago. Lincoln Park High School. The school has a fantastic program for students who want to be part of the school activities especially if your child is musically inclined like choir, band, orchestra and already has outstanding academics.
We have a child that current attends Lincoln Park and enjoys the school so far. The teachers that she has are well prepared and have a well throughout timeline of the work that needs to be completed for each month. I would attend this school if your child wants to be academically challenged as long as they are doing great already.
You child may have a difficult time if they come to this school as an academically poor student. As for the school itself, the teachers are prepared to assist your child although your child has to put in day to day efforts to complete the homework carefully.
The student needs to take advantage to contacting and scheduling with the teachers for school tutoring. You can also send email to teachers promptly if your child need assistance; many student wait too late. For some classes, the teacher communicate directly through a broadcast email to the student on the homework that needs to be completely and there are online tools that the student uses to complete some of the homework as well.
I would believe as with any school that ones needs to get access to the school resources and be involved with the school activities during and after the school hours. You get what you put into your life. Nothing comes to you automatically. I would highly stress to find out how your child plans to get to the school using buses and trains before even looking at this school. The travel distance going to and from the school is very important to the success of the student. This may seems minor after all of the research your have done academically, but I have seen people transfer out of the because of the distance.
I hope this give you some other insights into your school search in finding the best school for your child. Too many custom features to list. Full Features. Exterior Type : Brick,Limestone.
